MICA is a contemporary jewellery house which specialises in custom made pieces. Its name derives from a group of minerals that are characterised by their malleability which makes them ideal for various uses – some which are purely aesthetic.
Expanding its most basic and primitive character, MICA's identity is based on the amorphic nature of the rocks, the asymmetry of their profiles and their unique existence – no two rocks are alike – making all of MICA's pieces truly unique.
The interior spaces are based on an extensive grid system, strongly influenced by the work of Sol Lewitt, particularly his "Variations of Incomplete Open Cubes". The displays, exclusively conceived and produced for MICA, offer an organic contrast against the more rigid backdrop of the space they are contained in.........more about the store interior design

Shop Interior Design | Orla Kiely | Mercer Street | New York | Architecture Republic
The spaces are arranged as a 1:1 cross-section of a doll's house, acting like a stage-set for customers to play out their ambitions of creating an ideal home, complete with original Orla Kiely designs. The modern, interchangeable interior street space allows for theatrical events and unusual displays while the backstage service rooms are integrated into the doll's house. Making the customer feel comfortable is a priority in retail design and the spaces are proportioned with familiar dimensions relating to a typical home. The cabinetry is designed in modules of 450mm and 750mm to correspond with seat and desk height while the interior spaces have ceilings of 2.4m as in a typical living room or kitchen. All of the furniture was manufactured in Ireland and shipped stateside, representing a tour de force of Irish design abroad. Solid dark American walnut cabinets with high gloss sprayed doors and thin metal legs occupy the floorspace. Very similar to the furniture used in Orla Kiely's own home, they reflect the quirky, retro style of her brand. Visitors to the shop are inclined to pick a room and sit down, "I'm very happy if they want to hang out," the designer says...........more

Corporate Interior Design | JanSport Corporate Headquarters | San Leandro | California | Rapt Studio
Relocating from their Wisconsin home to the bay area, JanSport wished to retain a meaningful connection to their “rural” roots while supporting an aggressive expansion of their product offerings and a re-energizing of their corporate image. Rapt Studio’s task? To deliver a project that inspired its inhabitants, that reenergized the brand, and that came in within a tight budget and tighter schedule. The Rapt design team utilized a strategy guided by sustainable practices—a minimum of materials were actually brought onto the site and as much of the existing building was reused and exploited in order to accomplish the final result. This strategy included the polishing of existing concrete flooring wherever possible, the installation of ceilings only in areas with acoustic concerns, the utilization of salvaged wood products for the development of high-touch public spaces and the reuse of existing office construction wherever possible........more
Shoe Shop Interior Design | MOSTIP | Shiga | Japan | Eastern Design Office
Shoes are displayed on the big triangle. They are placed as if an invisible man is enjoying a moonwalk. An arrow tip shaped triangle is not floating, rather it is slightly touching on the ground with a tension as if it were to start moving.
One side of the entire wall is covered by a mirror, therefore the space seems enlarged twice, and the number of triangles may increase from two to three or four with the angle one looks into the space. Moreover, the big triangle will change its form into a diamond........more
Bookstore Interior Design | Tanum Karl Johan Bookstore | Oslo | Norway | Jarmund Vigsnæs Arkitekter
Tanum Karl Johan is Oslo's oldest bookstore located on the city's main street. The project is a full renovation, which means completely tearing down the old interior. From having several floor levels, the store reappeared with all functions on one floor with a stronger visual relationship to the street and more rough materials to emphasize the physical appearance of the book.
The traditional green color of Tanum is continued into two shades; a dark green as a calm backdrop and the light green as a signal color. Elements from the Flag Ship Store at Karl Johan will give basis for other stores in the Tanum chain. The furniture is mobile and flexible, shaped to signalize actuality and be able to adapt to various actions and happenings at the store......more

Shop Interior Design | Buzzer Beater | New York | Slade Architecture
BUZZER BEATER is a high-end consignment store in New York’s Greenwich Village that specializes in rare sneakers and apparel. There is no back-inventory -- everything on display has its own unique history. We designed the store to reflect the nature of its eclectic and highly personal inventory.
The store’s closely populated space allows for an intimate experience for customers that blurs the distinction between employee and customer. Because the stores sales are made on consignment, buyers can become the sellers and sellers can become the buyers. Recognizing the importance of this interaction within Buzzer Beater’s community, we designed many of the store’s features to be equally as engaging......more
